hi,
im trying to install cacti under windows xp.
i installed iis (version 5.1)
this tools i installed following cacti requirements
rrdtool-1.2.10-win32-perl58
mysql-5.0.51b-win32
cacti-0.8.7b
Spine-1.3_Beta
php-5.2.6-win32-installer.msi
php-5.2.6-Win32

several problems:
1) php.ini.dist was not appeared but only php.ini, and i couldnot find the following lines:
extension_dir = c:\php\ext
extension=php_mysql.dll
extension=php_snmp.dll
extension=php_sockets.dll
2)after i installed php-5.2.6-win32-installer.msi
into c:\php i couldnt find the phpisapi.dll in c:\php. finally,somehow i download also php-5.2.6-Win32 which contains this file and i add him to the home directory in the iis
in iis configuration: , NO IIS_WPG was created or appeared, so i cant give any perission in cmd.exe file
3)about RRDTool , no rrdtool.exe exist in the rrdtool-1.2.10-win32-perl58 zip file
4)about spine: no spine conf.dist exist in Spine-1.3_Beta zip file

please tour comment about that. maybee i didnt download the correct version or zip file of thees tools.

1) php.ini.dist should've been in the php-5.2.6-Win32.zip download.

2) You'll only have an IIS_WPG account if you're on windows 2003.

3) Download rrdtool 1.2.26 or better from the rrdtool website.

4) Don't bother using spine until your cacti install is fully functional with the cmd.php poller. Get spine.conf from the older 0.8.7 download.

Right, ignore IIS_WPG since it doesn't apply to you. Don't forget about the IUSR_ account stuff though.
