Solaris 10 Install

Post by sberher »

Does anyone have a good set of instructions for installing Cacti on a Solaris 10 box. I've tried to use the "Installing Cacti on Solaris HOWTO" but this is for Solaris 9.

I've successfully have had Cacti up and running different times using Sun's Coolstack and Xampp. But the poller won't work and the error log shows that the php was not configured to enable sockets and/or the precompile versions are not what Cacti needs.

When I try to use the Solaris 9 Cacti install instructions whereby compiling the different objects, I'm successful, but die when I get to the php when the set of libraries available evidently does not match the expected php. A good complete set of "repeatable" instructions would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure that Cacti is an excellent tool, but need to get it up and running first!

Thanks in advance...

What Solaris Packages do you install?? I'm trying to build it using the minimal necessary packages as our Security department are very stringent on having secure hardened OS's!!
