No result with command line php poller.php

Post by AP »

Hi,

I've just installed Cacti on a XP plateform to monitor Nortel switches.

Everything goes right except for generating graphes. SNMP works fine, but I have no pics, even so I've got red cross ones.

Here is my conf :

- snmpwalk Binary Path : c:/net-snmp/bin/snmpwalk.exe
- snmpget Binary Path : c:/net-snmp/bin/snmpget.exe
- snmpbulkwalk Binary Path : c:/net-snmp/bin/snmpbulkwalk.exe
- snmpgetnext Binary Path : c:/net-snmp/bin/snmpgetnext.exe
- RRDTool Binary Path : C:/cacti/rrdtool/rrdtool/Release/rrdtool.exe
- RRDTool Default Font Path :
- PHP Binary Path : C:/PROGRA~1/EASYPH~1.0B1/php5/php.exe
- Cacti Log File Path : C:/cacti/log/cacti.log
- Spine Poller File Path : C:/cacti/spine.exe

Here are the weird stuffs :D

- No result after tapping "php poller.php". No error, no confirmation, nothing. As the command line has no effect.
- No files into cacti/RRA except .placeholder
- No entries in cacti's log although I've put maximum level of logs ...
- No difference using CMD.EXE generating polls or SPINE ...

Here are the solutions I tried :

- Changing permissions on my cacti rep to authorize full control for all users.
- Downgrading Perl version from 5.10 to 5.8
- Put the command line "ppm install rrds.ppd" installing RRDtool.
- Changing PHP bin path into 8.3 filename code in cacti's conf.

I have no idea where the problem is. RRDTool ?

Thank you very much,
Arnaud

1) read http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 and repost.

2) Specify a valid RRDTool Default Font Path

3) The fact you've got php in a path with spaces is likely creating issues. Please read the installation guide.

4) Cacti doesn't natively use perl, so that will have zero effect.
