Data Input methods

Hi All,

I am able to create a data Input method, using the input string

as /usr/bin/perl <path_cacti>/scripts/ping.pl <host>

after i click create it show me input and out put fields page.I fill these fields also.
Now my question is when cron runs the script where does it get the value of input parameters.Because it did not prompt me to pass the value of host or its ip.

I think I had put hits in wrong forum.

I am quite new to cacti but AFAIK:
This fields can be populated in the data template in the Custom Data section which can be delegated to the Data Source.
