GetIF depends on reading the MIB files in its MIB directory for OIDs. net-snmp snmpwalk is a better tool for traversing unknown OIDs.

No WMY graphs

Post by lindemann »

Hi,

I am trying to use the IIS Request statistics template to get information off an IIS5 box.

I have the Connection Statistics graph working fine, however the request stats one is a different matter. I get the 5 minute average graph displayed in the preview screen, but I get no graphs when clicking on it to go to the weekly, monthly etc views.

The RRD files are getting updated on every pass, and I see no obvious errors in the poller logs.

I'm running this on IIS5, using PHP 5.14, 0.8.6g with RRD 1.2.x.

Other graphs such as traffic statistics are all working fine too, so I'm thinking it's something to do with this template and the way I now have it running.

Are there any other checks I can do for this?

Thanks!

odd problem

after importing the templates; i noticed all the data templates have no OID values at all.

I had to enter them manually; perhaps i need to upgrade my cacti version..

I could really use some help getting Cacti to monitor some IIS6 statistics (will also need to monitor IIS5 eventually).

I have Cacti 0.8.6i running great on a Win2k3/IIS6 box, but I can't get any data back from the IIS queries. Here's what my log says:

10/24/2006 04:21:05 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[5] DS[101] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result:
10/24/2006 04:21:05 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[5] DS[100] SNMP: v1: 172.18.200.55, dsname: iis_request_trace, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.7.3.1.23.0, output: U

I've tried the built in Windows SNMP service agent, the latest versions of Net-SNMP and SNMP Informant with no luck. The graphs show "-1" for most values.

It would be very helpful if I could determine exactly what SNMP agent needs to be installed and how it should be configued on the system I'll be monitoring. Please advise.

Im having an issue with the statistics graph.

(see snapshot)

when i put my mouse pointer over it it changes to this. I had to redo the size of the graph due that the figures were going off the side of the graph.

Any ideas?

Information

Post by neemedio »

Hi Mathieu,

congratulations, very good templates. I need only an information regarding the graphics.

In connections statistics graphic template which is the criteria to differentiate log anonymous connections from non anonymous connections?

And one more question, what the Attemps statistics means?

thank you,

Neemedio

It was easy to fix, just follow those steps:
1- go to "Graph Templates"
2- edit "IIS - Network Statistics"
3- into "Unit Grid Value", remove the value "b"
4- hit "Save"

8)

ps: Mathieu, if you come back here, congratulation for those templates :D

Hello,

sorry for the (maybe) dumb question.
Is the connection / request data "per second" (y-Grid)??
There is an average per minute / 5minute an so on, this I know.
But what is the display unit of the y-axis?

Thanks

High-end limit

There appears to be a limit of 1000 which this graph will display. I have messed with the graph template and data source to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SuSe Ent 10 & Windows 2000 Server

Post by edgalura »

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the wonderful share.
I created a guide to the post of the author since ours is running on SuSe Ent Server.

The document includes the guide as well as the files that I use in order for the script to work.

Regards,

ed

I have the graphs running perfectly, but I have a couple questions with the numbers I'm seeing. For several of the stats, I'm seeing either a "u" or "m" next to the number. What do these letters mean?
