Maybe the documentations of installing on windows could be updated for IIS 6.0 as this new version has some extra configuration work. You must allow an extension.
Anyway, my question is: when I try to reach cacti trough the IP address all works fine, but when I use the DNS name of my pc I get a window to enter my username and password (a windows box) Whatever username I enter (admin, regular user,..) I get an authentication failure.
Strange stuff is: my location of cacti is the D disk. When I move to the C disk there is no problem at all. Any idea how this comes? I tried everything.. permissions, other authentication methods..
Another IIS problem: I changed some cacti pages and added some lookup work through popen(). Those pages take long (+- 3 sec) to load and sometimes he just hangs. Other 'normal' pages continue to work but the heavy pages not. The only thing to do is reboot IIS. This is really anoying...

seems like Ian was facing the same problem:

I will try this workaround...
But where to start the session again? because you use fpassthrough... and then a return statement...

both problems solved. For the first one I just recreated the virtual dir and that did the trick.
the second one also worked.
a third problem is: I get every hour an error in the event log (id 5). The KB article from Microsoft was not complete and needed to set rights to IIS_WPG to an extra dir not mentioned in that article
