Unable to poll 2003 Server

Post by ccrump65 »

After setting Cacti up on a Linux v7 machine i proceeded to graph all my linux servers and their VM which are windows server 2000. I was able to do this with little problem. Everything works great until i went to Graph our 2003 Server. I get no response from it. SNMP is running and the Firewall is not in use.

I checked the FAC and install guides but I have not seen anything to help so far. This is what i get from a data query.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is the snmpd running on that machine? Did you already try to snmpwalk against this host from cli?

I'm having the same issue here on one of 2 of my Cacti servers. The OS is Fedora Core 8 and all of the Yum updates are applied on both. I'm not sure what changed, but I'm unable to get data enumerated from the CPU and Disk resource scripts. However, if I run them manually at the server, they show data. SNMP is running fine as well. I can enumerate the NIC cards fine, but the disk and cpu ones won't bring in data.

This is on Cacti 8.7b as well with PA 1.3.

This turns out to be a serious problem. Please report a bug for it

No need to report it as a bug. After about 2 hours of trying different things to try to figure out what happened, I got frustrated and typed "reboot". When the server came back, it started to work again. No reason as to why it stopped in the first place nor why it started to work. Very odd.
