snmp index is ip adress

Post by Stormbringer »

Hi Folks!

i tried to do a indexed snmp query with xml. now the problem is that there is no uniqe index and the ois ends with the ip adress of the interface. like in this example:
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.7.10.10.20.1 = IpAddress: 10.10.20.1
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.7.10.10.20.5 = IpAddress: 10.10.20.5
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.7.10.10.21.218 = IpAddress: 10.10.21.218
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.8.10.10.20.1 = 11014
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.8.10.10.20.5 = 0
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.8.10.10.21.218 = 12348
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.9.10.10.20.1 = 20570
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.9.10.10.20.5 = 20570
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.9.10.10.21.218 = 65300
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.10.10.10.20.1 = Counter32: 3901
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.10.10.10.20.5 = Counter32: 0
.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.10.10.10.21.218 = Counter32: 3585
so it is not possible to use the ip adress for the index. someone ever tried something similar and knows a sollution?

greets,

Funny you should mention that, I started attacking a problem today which presents exactly the same obstacle. In my case it's the BGP4 MIB that Quagga uses, specifically the bgpPeerTable section of it.
