I temporarily set guest user and user template to admin and now I can't get back into the console. Any ideas?

Change guest user and user template to 0 in table settings.

Tony,

Is there a bug report open on this. If not, can you please open one and assign it to yourself.

Thanks,

Larry

Actually, the easiest thing to do was this.

Copy one of your current accounts to an account called guest. Mind you, I had removed this account prior to this problem.

Then edit the account from the user manager interface, removing all the ACL's to just view graphs. Also, disable the account.

Then goto settings -> Authentication & change the Guest User -> guest
as well as the User Template -> guest.

Bam your done. Go create a user!

Thanks again Team Cacti for such an awesome tool!

The way to fix this is simply to go to the Settings->Authentication and hit save.

I will repair the logic in the user administration to fix the problem, but that is the work around for now.

Problem is related to an unknown value in the settings table. The installer will be fixed to address this issue in later releases.

For now, the work around is simply to save the Settings->Authentication tab. This will place the correct values into the settings table.

GTHE says...

EDIT.
need go to "Settings" - "Authentication". Set for [Guest User] and [User Template] any value, not "Not User".
Save.
Now set for [Guest User] and [User Template] value = "Not User".
Save.

create user withous error.
the problem = in table "settings" default value for [user_template] and [guest_user] is NULL.

which is working[/b]

rony's suggestion worked perfect, just save authentication tab (had to remove the prepopulated username/password fields for the LDAP section), then I can add users
