Installing alongside MSSQL?

Post by msingerman »

Hello,

We have a server which is currently running IIS, ASP and MSSQL. Should I worry about any conflicts with installing and running PHP and MySQL alongside APS and MSSQL? Or is it possible to use Cacti with MSSQL instead of MySQL? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

Shouldn't be any problems. Each DB uses different ports. Only thing to consider is if the load on the server/db is high, you might want to move them off.

And you can't use MSSQL as a cacti database(to be complete).
I'm using MSSQL(for HP insight manager) and MySQL(for cacti) on our monitoring server, and this is no problem(and it won't be a problem).
