importing rrd's from cricket?

Post by SpamapS »

Hi there. I've got cacti 0.8.5a up and running and it looks great. However, I have a ton of old data in my current cricket implementation. Is there anyway I can import that data before switching to cacti as the collection/display method?

I'd even be alright if I still had to run cricket's collection routines.. I just want all the graphs in one place.

BTW, I've seen this url:

<a href="http://www.raxnet.net/downloads/cacti/p ... rt.php.txt">
http://www.raxnet.net/downloads/cacti/p ... rt.php.txt
</a>

That looks a little scary though, being from 2 years ago.

Thanks in advance. :D

hmm...

have you tried creating datasources, that contain the same DS-Names as your rrd-files... then replace the existing rrd-files with your files...

you can use
rrdtool info $filename.rrd
to gain infos about your rrd-files.. (max. value, type, heartbeat, ds-names etc..)

=> this worked for my while migrating cacti from 6.8 to 8.5...
(my database had been corrupt..)
