I don't agree to integrated so much plugins with cacti.
the developer should focus on the main architecture of cacti 0.9, not
implement everything in the kernel.
There is only one thing I wish your guys to do is that release cacti 0.9 as soon as possible.

The only plugin that I think should be a part of the base cacti right now is "Boost"

Three cheers for Boost.

Both the Plugin Architecture and Manage should be built in.

How loudly can I say YES?
Thank you,

Ernie

I feel that the manage plugin should be included.

It to me only makes sence to add this tool. I like to be able to turn to just one tool/web interface to monitor/view my network. I don/t have time to open 15 web pages to look for all my services and pages. Granted I also want to see cacti stable. I would also like to see manage be able to track port status.

This just feels like a part of cacti that is missing from the base install.

I have to agree - MANAGE for me has become invaluable. A pain in the backside to setup initially, but it is now solid as a rock (thanks to Gilles and Larry).

I think it would be a great idea, this plugin is very useful!

Plus, the manage compatibility with Cacti depends on versions. If you add in Cacti, you'll take care of it and it is better this way for a production environment.

This would be the killer functionality to have to bring it up to what nagios can do in terms of host monitoring.

I find things like this good, but I don't want to have to be in it all the time watching it to report on a system down or when processes are out of control on a machine, etc....

What should it do though? Your idea of a dashboard is probably different from someone elses... For some people, monitor, threshold or weathermap would be enough already, with a little tweaking.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Well I think of the orion product dashboard that could maybe pull data from a few sources.. Maybe one box could display if a host is down. Another could display any tholds that are out of use. in a third box maybe a map from weathermap. In a fourth maybe it lists the top bandwidth users from a select-ed group. Maybe in a fourth window could be... User Defined.

Check this out and you will see more what I am talking about .
