Gaps in graphs - can we trick ?

Hi,

i have a switch which cant respond snmp query for few times in a day.

When cacti cant get data from switch, blanks happen in graphs.

Is there any chance, that we modify cacti and make it take the previous value for the data that couldnt been get, and dont see any graph gaps although cacti cant get data for one poll?

No, you cannot create fake data and fill in the gaps.

Sorry to correct you, BSOD260, but you CAN.
The parameters are HEARTBEAT (max time allowed before rrdtool uses NaN for missing values) and xff (max amount of missing values allowed).
But in each case, I do NOT recommend using them. After some time, you won't know what is REAL data and what is FAKED data

i m trying to figure out what makes the switch unresponsive to snmp for about 15 minutes. CatOs
Maybe i ll consider faking data, ,if i cant solve this problem.

No, honestly NOT. I do not want to answer to users USING that stuff but not UNDERSTANDING what it does and why some graphs show data, even if the server is down and stuff.
Well, myself I'm still on the rrdtool learning curve and do not claim to understand each and every bit
