[solved] Server Crash Graphs reset

Post by hal »

HI there,

I recently experienced a server crash and when I got everything back up cacti "appears" to be missing the last 8 months of data. In effect, cacti has started recording from scratch again across all the graphs.

Is there any way to check to see if the data is actually missing so it can be recovered?

Graph data is stored in the rrd files. I suggest running a file system diagnostic (like chkdsk).

Hi there,

This is on a debian linux machine.

I am not sure what happened but I checked cacti today and all the graphs are back to normal. I am not sure how this happened, it is not a shared machine. There was obviously something happening in the background that has sorted this out.
