Hi all,
We're currently running cacti 0.8.6h and wish to upgrade to something a bit newer. There are a few 0.8.7 featured we'd love (eg, one minute polling, improved LDAP support etc) although we also use the network weathermap extensively (is this supported under 0.8.7?).
We're running on RHEL3 and will be using the RPMs located at http://dag.wieers.com/packages/cacti/ .
Has anybody done such an upgrade and can share any experiences (positive, negative) they may have had?
Thanks
Uprade advice: 0.8.6h -> 0.8.7b

I recently tested upgrading from version 0.8.6h to 0.8.7a 3 times without problems.
Yesterday we upgraded to version 0.8.7b and at the moment everything seems to be okay except for the poller runtime which is sometimes as low as 30 seconds and sometimes as high as 200 seconds.
We're running weathermap, too and it's running fine with Cacti version 0.8.7a and b.

I think the only problems you will have with weathermap is if you are running the boost plugin.

it seems Weathermap 0.94 can handle this :
Code: Select all
ADDED - RRD DS can use Cacti's poller_output to get data without running RRDtool at all.
(this also means it can work with the Boost plugin for large installations)
See targets.html for more info on this one.
