cmd.php gets stuck after polling

Post by Jimbob »

For some reason cmd.php has suddenly stopped doing any updates. I have run cmd.php manually and checked the output, I believe its polling all the hosts, but then cmd.php seems to just hang when I expect to see:

update /www/htdocs/cacti/rra/ blah
update /www/htdocs/cacti/rra/ blahblah

Can anyone help! I 1st upgraded from 0.8.5 to 0.8.5a in order to reinstall,
I then moved all current rrd files incase they had an issue, and then I
dropped the cacti sql table and imported a backup from yesterday -
but I still have the same issue!

I'd be very gratefull for any pointers! :(

Thanks.

Where you having the problem previous to the upgrade to 0.8.5a, or where you trying to upgrade to fix the problem?

I upgraded in a desperate attempt to fix the problem.

check the permissions of your .rrd-files.. (moving should move the permissions too.. but it's better if you check them..)

pass the output of cmd.php to a file by changing /etc/crontab
there you'll see perhaps more infos about what is happening

does rrdtool work correctly?

is the path to rrdtool correctly set within the cacti-settings?
