I used the beta windows installer version 1.7 to install cacti on a 2003 server. Everything works great until I change the poller from cmd.php to spine then I get the message "02/04/2008 12:53:10 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] DEBUG: About to Spawn a Remote Process [CMD: e:/spine/spine.exe, ARGS: 0 3] Waiting on 1/1 pollers." the Waiting 1/1 pollers continues to repeat on the screen. During the install the only change I made was setting the install path to E:\. If I switch back to cmd.php everything works great. The only change I have made from the original install is was to edit e:\spine\spine.conf and changed the "DB_Host" from localhost to the ipaddress of the system per a post in the forums. Any thoughts, I have verified all permissions, and currently the scheduled task is running as administrator.
Thanks
Issues switching to spine

Does spine.exe have read/execute rights for the IUSR and IIS_WPG accounts?
Manually run spine once, does it run properly (look in your log file) ?

Spine.exe did not have those rights. I have since added them, however I get the same results. Attached is the cacti.log after the poll ran 1 cycle.
Thanks

When I mean manually run spine, I don't mean invoke the cacti poller. Run spine.exe from the command prompt (only do this for debugging!). See what its error(s) are.
Also verify Cacti's Settings -> Paths are all correct.

Sorry, my mistake. When running it from the command line I receive this message. SPINE: Using spine config file [spine.conf]
MYSQL: Connection Failed: Host 'tech0328-vmsvr2' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.
From the message I see that this means the system isn't allowed to connect to the MySQL server . So progress is being made, however I am not that familiar with MySQL, how do I go about correcting this?

Just changed the ipaddress in the spine.conf to the loop back address of 127.0.0.1 and spine is now working.
Thanks for all the help, cacti wouldn't be as great a product without all the assistance you guys offer, also thanks for creating the windows installer it has saved me countless hours creating systems to test on before rolling into production.
