[newbie] Snmp trapping

Hello !

I'm a newbie with cacti and I've a question. In fact, I would like alert network' administrator when a device is down, its disk is full or its network card is surcharged for exemple....

Which plugin do you recommend to me?

could the plugin “thold” do what I will like?

You can configure Thold to alert you about everything you can monitor in cacti(and that's about everything).
This can include network traffic, CPU loads or disk usage.

Uses syslog along with snmptt for traps to write to it

From Haloe you can send email based on keywords that hit in syslog.

Please install the plugin architecture and then the thresold plugin (it's designed for what you want to do).
