CISCO CMTS SNMP QUERY/GRAPH TEMPLATES/DATA TEMPLATES

Post by tonyperez »

I want to aport with some templates for a CISCO CMTS. I add to a rar file my snmp query including graph templates, data templates and data query. Be sure to copy the cisco_cmts.xml to <path_cacti>/resource/snmp_queries/ first, and then import the cacti_data_query_snmp_cisco_cmts.xml. Data templates and Graph Templates wil be add by default.

Some of the graph templates are:

1) Cablemodems per Upstream (Active, registrered and total)
2) Cablemodems per Cable Interface (Active, registrered and total)
3) SNR per Upstream
4) Traffic per Upstream/Downstream
5) Percentage for the Upstream utilization
6) Frequency per Upstream (Frequency, Channel With and modulation Profile)
7) I call this Upstream information. I include on one graph all the information mentioned before for an Upstream interface.

Those was testint on a Free BSD 6.0 BOX whit the following ports: (dependencies must be install)

apache-2.0.55_4 Version 2 of Apache web server with prefork MPM.
cacti-0.8.6h_42 Web-driven graphing interface for RRDTool
cactid-0.8.6.g A multithreaded poller for Cacti written in C
mysql-client-4.1.18_1 Multithreaded SQL database (client)
mysql-server-4.1.18_2 Multithreaded SQL database (server)
net-snmp-5.2.2_1 An extendable SNMP implementation
perl-5.8.8 Practical Extraction and Report Language
php4-4.4.2_1 PHP Scripting Language (Apache Module and CLI)
php4-extensions-1.0 A "meta-port" to install PHP extensions
rrdtool-1.2.12_1 Round Robin Database Tools

I'm working on templates for a NetEnforce (Allot), PIX's, VXR's, CACHES, Solaris BOXs, RADVIEW, and more :).

Enjoined

I tried this and it didn't work so well. Most of the time, most of the graph template stuff said stuff like "ERROR: invalid rpn expression 'a,8,*'"

When it didn't say that, I was getting errors for no such file/directory on the rrd file. Running debian sarge with latest cacti via backports.

Hi Tony,

Just out of curiosity, what UBR are you using for this. Are you on the 7200 series or the 10K?

Thanks!

Open the xml file in an xml tool... like firefox or something to see if it renders properly.

Firefox doesn't report any errors.
Tested XmlSpy with the same result

Any progress on the new version of the templates?

I am running six uBR10012s almost fully equipped with cards, any idea on how to quickly implement the templates on all the correct interfaces?
