error in the sub-interface dot1q on cisco 76xx

Post by shining340 »

Hi,
we have a cisco 76xx witch some dot1.q sub interface.
We use cacti 0.8.7a.
The error is in the value of the traffic graph about only the sub interface.
The physical interface is correct, but the sub no.
Which snmpwalk the router send the correct value about the traffic on the dot1q interface, but the graph is not correct ( for example in the router there is 50Mbps In on the dot1q interface and the graph is fixed on 600 bps )
Can someone help me?

thanks

Make sure you're using snmpv2 and switch to 64bit graph templates.

Thanks but i just tried it.. but dont resolve the problem.
I think that is a IOS bug ( in Cisco ) but i dont undestand, in the snmwalk the counter are correct.
Do you know where ( cacti files ) cacti write the output of the interface traffic ?
thanks

I'm sure that the value in the graph are wrong because i know the correct traffic on the sub interface,
The 1/1.6 about 20 Mbps In and the 1/1.900 about 60Mbps.
I see this value from other stats take on the layer 2 switch.
Another method is snmpwalk, if i run snmpwalk on this device, i receve the value about the variable call IfInOctects.x the is the x is the index of the dot1q interface.
If i somm the value of the 2 subinterface i have the same value take on the ge1/1 , so i sure that the snmp value is correct but there is soma problem when cacti graph it

Change the cacti logging level to medium and watch the data that is returned for the interface in question over several polling periods. Is it returning the correct data?

Hi, i found the raw data, and effective there is a problem, the data counter that the router send is different to the real data.
