Problem Changing Graph details - error

Error: Save Failed: Field Input Error (Check Red Fields).

Setting up a new graph, I cannot change any of the supplemental Graph Template Data. Clicking save without changing any fields also throws the error. I get the error above when I click save. I also see the following message in my messages file:

Jan 3 11:58:02 NetGraph httpd: PHP Notice: Undefined variable: local_graph_id in /var/www/html/cacti/graphs.php on line 203

Cacti ver 0.8.7a on RHEL v4

Any ideas? The message says to check red fields, but none are highlighted.

I'm a bit worried. In 087a, there's no line 203 with that variable in that file. Are you running plugin arch?

Yes I have the Plugin Arch installed.

Line 203 is in this block:

of function form_save()

Again, I'm sorry. There's no such bit of code in 087a graphs.php file. Even plugin arch should not have changed that piece of code, at least when installing plugin arch via patch. Did you install plugin arch by replacing files or by patching?
You may provide a larger bit of code to help me identifying what's going on here

This code should only be executed when changing the Graph Template of an exting graph. But that's not what you did, eh?

When I create a new graph via:
Graph Management
-> Add
-> Template = SNMP -Generic OID Template
-> Host = MyDevice
-> Create

I then get a window with the Supplemental Graph data Fields at their defaults.

-> Select my data source snmp_oid
-> Modify title
-> Set vert Label and Legent Text

Note: Some of the settings take. The Datasource must be working because it shows the graph. The legend Text is right, but the Vertical Label is still defaulted to 0, and the Title is the default without my changes

Ok. Will try to reproduce this, but not before tomorrow. What happens, if you create a graph from the host edit view:
Devices -> select device -> associate graph template if not already there -> Create graphs for this Host -> check graph template -> create

Same thing if I followed you right. Ultimately I get to the same page to modify the info, and it throws the error on save.

I've exactly the same problem than you Feldmann.
When I create the graph from an existing data source, I fill out all the field and I obtain this damn message :

Error: Save Failed: Field Input Error (Check Red Fields)

However, the graph is created, and everything is working!!

I think the problem come from Title field : If I add argumment to the default field (|host_description|), they aren't taken in consideration after having created graph.

So, it appears to be a big problem in my case, because I'm using several graph for a single device, so all the created graphs have the same name (the default field).

I think, I haven't the same problem when I using a last version of cacti without plugin Architecture.

I would be very great, Gandalf, if you could come in help.
