CACTI 0.8.7 automatic creation for interface graphs

Post by hsharkas »

Hi,
below is the cacti platform detail
Cacti Version 0.8.7
Cacti OS unix
SNMP Version net-snmp
RRDTool Version RRDTool 1.2.x

I just upgraded from 0.8.6 to 0.8.7 and all is working fine except that for all devices added after the upgrade, graphs items and corresponding data sources are automatically created for all interfaces are operational up.

Even after deleting the graphs and the data sources they appear once more after few minutes.

This is adding a lot of extra burden on the machine especially when monitoring the BRASs on the network where all our broadband connection are terminated and i don't care to monitor these dynamically created interfaces.

Is there a way to disable this intellegent feature either on the device level or globally for the whole platform?

Your help is appreciated.

I would post this question on the main forum. It may not get the attention it needs here..

Last weekend I finally got around to/worked up the nerve to upgrade my main Real Work cacti install to 0.8.7a - it's so much nicer to use!

I'm not sure if it's the tidyup of down-but-should-be-disabled hosts that I did at the same time, or the upgrade, but my poll runs twice as quickly now too.

Big Thanks to the Cacti Team!
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
