No graphs in Ubuntu Dapper

I tried installing the cacti package.

1.Installed fine
2. no graph
3. I got an error when running "php poller.php"
4. Can't remember what the error was

I uninstalled cacti and got cacti-0.8.7a.tar.gz.

1. Installed fine
2. no graphs
3. I get nothing from "php poller.php"

I hope there is a fix for this. [/list][/list]
