Hi
I have cacti and have some nodes to monitor but i am not using snmp and the problem is:
when i create the node it says created sucessfully
When i go to "devices" it says "snmp error" but the option is "snmp and ping" in "down device detection" i am messing a lot around in cacti now to get it working ...
i use host template none
i use tcp ping
Poller type "spine "since after the automatic upgrade of cacti did the change and the other poller cmd.php i am no longer using.
why can i not just use ping to see that the host is alive ???
i am doing an debug of the host in mind and i am using "linux ping latency" as an template and in the debug mode it says that the rrd file is missing and that is true ...
i checked the rra directory ...
the other devices using snmp is still working fine i guess ????, well seems to be working still, those devices uses snmp in "downed device detection"
how do i monitor an host with only ping ???, icmp ping tcp ping, udp ping ????, ports ???
Matthias
Only monitor with ping

1) what cacti version?
2) If cacti 0.8.7, then the downed device detection has moved to per-device. Change the device in question to ping only.
3) cacti will not poll a device which it considers down; hence the lack of any graph.
4) read http://docs.cacti.net/node/283
