Multiple Interfaces on same switch

Post by dafonte »

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out how to get combined traffic for multiple trunked interfaces on an Extreme Black Diamond switch.

I am able to do this with mrtg like this:

Target[switch_2001]: 2001:community@switch1 + 2002:community@switch1 + 2003:community@switch1

How do i do the same with cacti?

Any help would be appreciated.

No response yet...

I'd think this is something that would have been done before, but I can't seem to find any documentation on this specific requirement.

I've tried duplicating the Traffic (bits/sec) template and adding 2 more Inbound data sources and 2 more Outbound data sources.

This actually allows me to select 3 different inbound interfaces and 3 different outbound interfaces. But when I save, the inbound/outbound data sources all revert back to the same interface.

If this has been done before and is documented, can you point me to where I might find the info.

Thanks.

Try to change the type of graph for 'traffic_in' of 2 & 3 from AREA to STACK, and from LINE2 to STACK for 'traffic_out'.

Did you get this to work yet? I have 7 Black Diamonds that I'd like to start managing with cacti (if possible).

I had played around with it for a bit, but didn't get it working right.

The above reply about changing the AREA to STACK is what is needed, but it's going to take some work to get it looking right I think.

I'm not working on it at this point, but If I do attempt it again I'll let you know.

Possibly someone else has a little more detail/documentation on going about making this work.
