manualy checking does not work

If I call "php /var/www/html/cacti/plugins/thold/check-thold.php " the php script stops working after the statement:
"include(dirname(__FILE__) . "/../../include/global.php");"

Makeing some more debugs global.php stops at:
"/* connect to the database server */
db_connect_real($database_hostname, $database_username, $database_password, $database_default, $database_type, $database_port);"
