AVtech RoomAlert 11E

Post by ChristianAnton »

Never built anything like this before but I've been using Cacti for a couple months now and really like it, so I figure it's time to give back.

The AVTech RoomAlert 11E allows you to remotely sense temperature, humidity, smoke, movement, water on the floor and a host of other physical conditions in a room from far away. It's proven to be invaluable to us for monitoring our Disaster Recovery site and we'll soon be adding new ones to our production site for monitoring the server and electrical rooms after-hours. You can find out more about it here http://www.avtech.com/

I appreciate any help/ feedback I get along the way in what I hope to be a fun little challenge.

I have both models. I plan to implement the 11e first and then modify it for the 7e. I'll use the mibx files from the MIB downloads on their site to try to replace all 11e specific OIDs etc with 7e info. I think it will work. Has anyone already done this? :D

I have created a 7E template for cacti (my first one)

Let me know if you have any problems ....

http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=25205

Also i am working on a improved version with all 4 temperature sensors on a single graph. Currently they are on 4 separate ones

Hey !

I have cacti Version 0.8.6h.

It's the version from Ubuntu depot, so I don't want to update it by hand ..

So I get to the point: the XML Host template files in the first post doesn't work, I get this error:

Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.

Could please someome help me with that ?

We recently had problems with the air conditionner...

Thanks in advance !

Room Alert 26W

Post by michaelarichard »

Just modified this script with the new OID's for the AVTech RoomAlert 26W.
I also added Flood indicator as well.

Here's my start.
I havent added the expansion sensors, or the WiSH sensors yet, still trying to figure out how to template the dual sensors. (temp/humidity)

TODO: copy these templates and change the OID's for the other inputs..

More to come hopefully...

We just installed a 26W and wondered if you had made any progress on graphing from the WiSH sensors.

Thanks

After using the above templates to cacti 0.8.7e i get this error when I try to create new graphs for any device:
Data Query [SNMP - Interface Statistics] Reload Associated Query
Error in data query.

Notice: Undefined variable: column_counter in /var/www/cacti/graphs_new.php on line 888
Any idea how to recover my cacti?!

Thank you

Solved:
data queries--> "SNMP - Interface Statistics" <cacti_path>was without "<>"
