Hi,
I've recently been rolling out a load of changes that require me to reindex a fairly large number of hosts at a time (approx 100 per time).
After the first few minutes of doing:
# php poller_reindex_hosts.php -id=296
# php poller_reindex_hosts.php -id=297
# php poller_reindex_hosts.php -id=298
..etc etc , it dawned on me that it would considerably quicker to just fiddle the poller_reindex_hosts.php to add a filter to allow a search on the host.description field.
Example:
# php poller_reindex_hosts.php -filter=br%loh
WARNING: Do not interrupt this script. Reindexing can take quite some time
........................................
Is there any chance of seeing this functionality in the next release of cacti ?
I see you've already done something similar in poller_graphs_reapply_names.php.
I've attached the diff for anyone who's interested.
