Hi

could you run that command :

Code: Select all

$ rpm -ql rrdtool | grep ttf
and then check that this path is filled under Settings -> Paths -> RRDTool Default Font Path ?

FC8 rrdtool font issue

Post by bdbrumm »

Same issue as described previously, however no ttf files to be found.
This was a "yum" build; where would the fonts be???
What FC8 package would have the fonts?

I had the same problem after upgrading to FC 8. I installed the DejaVu fonts and things appears to work..

I just did (not really knowing what package I needed):
# yum install deja*

Tnx for the tip. "yum install dejavu-fonts" worked for me.

i have this with yum :

There are unfinished transactions remaining. You mightconsider running yum-complete-transaction first to finish them.
--> Running transaction check
---> Package dejavu-fonts.noarch 0:2.20-1.nodist.rf set to be updated
--> Processing Conflict: dejavu-fonts conflicts fontconfig >= 2.3.0
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
dejavu-fonts-2.20-1.nodist.rf.noarch from rpmforge has depsolving problems
--> dejavu-fonts conflicts with fontconfig
Error: dejavu-fonts conflicts with fontconfig

you have not encountered this problem?

Well, for me not :(
After last "yum upgrade" which upgraded rrdtool to 1.3.7 (Centos 5.3),
any fonts are gone.

So I've done "yum install dejavu-lgc-fonts" because "yum install dejavu-fonts"
has been generating conflicts with font-config (as above).

So I have fonts now:

# ls -l /usr/share/fonts/dejavu-lgc |grep Mono
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 177804 Jan 7 2007 DejaVuLGCSansMono-BoldOblique.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 229384 Jan 7 2007 DejaVuLGCSansMono-Bold.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 185036 Jan 7 2007 DejaVuLGCSansMono-Oblique.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 237540 Jan 7 2007 DejaVuLGCSansMono.ttf

BUT I can't get monospaced display even if I configure legend font
with one of these fonts. Any ideas how to get monospace fonts work again?

I was not having the fonts configured, followed the steps, but sill not working.

One thing I have noticed is that every time a graph loads, its giving ERROR on HTTP error_log.
ERROR: failed to load
