why I cant find the line for plugin in config.php?

Post by hellofox »

I want to install the thold plugin into cacti 0.87. I've uploaded thold folder into cacti installation directory and created the plugins folder under ~cacti, but I can't activate the plugin because per the docs, a modification of include/config.php is needed. but the line including plugin configuration is missed in config.php. How can I do now? thanks.

At first you've to install the current plugin architecture for Cacti 0.8.7 (PIA 1.3).
You can find the installation instructions under http://cactiusers.org/wiki/PluginArchitectureInstall .

Also, even if you have installed the PIA - the plugins[] lines are now in global.php and not config.php
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

That's right. I forgot to write that it has changed with 0.8.7.

I just update to 0.8.7 and I do not see the plugins[] line in global.php.

I did not have the plugin arch,. enabled in 0.8.6. Would that make a difference? Where would I put the line in global.php? Anywhere?

I also dont see the $config['url_path'] = "/"; line. Can I also just add that anywhere?

Thanks

I don't see why this array can't be in config.php.....

You must install the plugin architecture before you try and install plugins. Even if you did have it in 0.8.6 you still need to install it again (the correct version for your new Cacti version), even.

I still don't see why it was all moved at all. There's still a file in the default install that will overwrite your database settings during an upgrade, and it means that plugins now have to check which location is the right one. If there was a config.php-dist in the zip, then it might make some sense...
