No Map From Poller

Post by laurent »

Hi All ,

Sorry to post such a Noob question but I've been fighting with the issue for 3 days now . I've installed the latest weathermap plugin with cacti 0.8.7.a
If I click "recalculate all maps now" maps are created, but if I let the poller running nothing is being created ( this map has not been created yet ... ) I've double check permissions , php.ini memory increased but still nothing .
I fired the debug mode and the weird stuff is almost nothing shows int there, only these lines:
11/23/2007 01:58:33 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] *****************************************************************
poller_output starting
11/23/2007 01:58:33 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Assoc: "select distinct weathermap_data.*, data_template_data.local_data_id, data_template_rrd.data_source_type_id from weathermap_data, data_template_data, data_template_rrd where weathermap_data.rrdfile=data_template_data.data_source_path and data_template_rrd.local_data_id=data_template_data.local_data_id"
11/23/2007 01:58:33 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] poller_output done

I've checked as well the mysql db , I've 3 entries regarding weathermap : weathermap_auth , weathermap_data , weathermap_maps
The weathermap_data is empty while ther's some data in the other two

If someone would be kind enough to suggest anything it'd be appreciated ... Thanks for your time , Laurent

If you have been using Recalculate Now, be very careful that the permissions are right - Recalc Now has

However, you should be seeing at least one more message in the logs:

Code: Select all

11/23/2007 03:00:34 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] Weathermap 0.94 starting - Normal logging mode. Turn on DEBUG in Cacti for more information
If you don't see that, then it looks like something is funny with the plugin architecture or poller... I'm not sure where to suggest looking in that situation. Other plugins work fine right? Does it make a different if weathermap is the first or last plugin?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Hi Howie , Thanks for your reply

Regarding the "recalculate maps" feature , I've deleted the files generated to rule out permission issues

I've just set $plugins[] = 'weathermap'; as the first plugin entry in both config.php and global.php, we'll see if it makes any diff

I confirm that "WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] Weathermap 0.94 starting - Normal logging mode. Turn on DEBUG " is not showing anywhere ...

Thanks again , regards , Laurent
