[SOLVED] Total Bandwidth graph not showing Total In

Post by deanmaglinte »

I am graphing the total bandwidth flowing through some of the ports on a switch. I setup the (bytes/sec, Total bandwidth) graph related to whatever ports I want and it seems to be collecting the data I need. However, when I look at the graph I can't see the total inbound traffic! It shows the total outbound traffic, but the inbound traffic gets cutoff. Can someone show me how to adjust this?

This is a font size issue. Lower font size or edit Graph Template and mark
on the 4th graph template item

I dropped the font size down to 4, saved the changes and actually restarted the whole server.....just to make sure all the changes were seen by Cacti. This did not fix my issue. Got any other tips?

Thanks.

In the graph template, it looks like item #5 (COMMENT:Total In) has an
after it already.

There are per-user visual settings. I just altered them to:

Title Font Size: 8
Legend Font Size: 6
Axis Font Size: 4
Unit Font Size: 4

What is the best way to restart all the Cacti services (command line and GUI)?

IMHO you don't have to restart anything after changing font sizes.

I have basically changed the font sizes to half of their previuos values and it does not change anything on my graphs. Am I missing something?

For each element (title, legend, etc.), did you fill the path to the font ?

Are you referring to Title Font File, Legend Font File, Axis Font File, Unit Font File? Those were blank, by default, so I have not touched those yet. Should I change these as well?

Yes, if you choose custom font sizes, you have to fill the path the font.

I apologize for newbie questions, but I don't know what the path to the font file is or the name of the font file?

It should be the same than in Settings ->Paths -> RRDTool Default Font Path

Usually, RRDtool font is located here : /usr/share/rrdtool/fonts/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf
