Hi all, I’m very new to CACTI, I have installed it under win 2k3 r2 sp2 wit IIS and it works great.
It is very useful to monitor my CISCO switches, my exchange server and much more, very cool stuff .
But I have one request/wish. I google it but didn’t find very use full info. I need to graph the traffic made by users,
something like top users, top destinations, top destination per user, history bandwidth per user etc . Something very similar to
reports done by ISA server… Can anyone point me to the right “RTFM” if exists or to any combination of CACTI and 3rd party tools?
If this already exists somewhere on the forum/internet sorry for double posting/ask for it.
I have a firewall protecting my LAN and I’m thinking if I put a linux box between fw and LAN as a transparent bridge and put CACTI on it,
this would be possible, but I don’t know how to graph into CACTI.
Internet connection in my LAN is slow and I need to know what are most used protocols/destinations, bandwidth occupied by them, topo users and top destination for them.
Thanks in advance.
traffic/bandwidth monitor

Depending on your Cisco switches, search the forums for Netflow.
Also, there are templates for ipfw and iptables firewall throughput around.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
