Upgrading from 0.6.8 to 0.8.x
I'm upgrading from 0.6.8 to 0.8.x. Any tips before I go on? Anything I need to watch out for?

Wow...
Um...
Backup first.
There are a lot of changes, I'm pretty sure the database should upgrade all the way to 0.8.7.

Patience is a virtue. The upgrade will create a new database. You may have to re-upgrade a few times, the new database, before all will go 100%. However, as Tony mentioned, backup.
Also, I would dump you database and dry run it a few times on another box.

If you apply the files, you do not need to patch. However, you will need to modify include/global.php to include your web path and add any plugins.
