Dead Host Notification

Post by Ninetoe »

Hey, i am currently just using thold for dead host notifications, but i was wondering if its possible to decide who you want these reports from, like a disable possibility.

The reason i ask, is because i have alot of equipment im monitoring and alot of these devices are being shut down frequently.

i was looking into disabling dead host notifications and adding a threshold template to the equipment i want notification about, but it seems there is no good template for this, i tried using advanced ping and alerting on packet loss but it wasnt very stable, any hints ?

I believe this patch was for an earlier version of Thold than 3.52, and requires the monitor plugin.
It didn't work for me, but I messed with it a little and sort of got it to work, but haven't had the time to get back to it yet, now will wait to see if 8.7 has anything like this built in...
Hope this helps..

I believe this is working fine in thold v3.6 which I just released. Please note that this version requires Cacti 0.8.7.
