Discovery Plugin Addition

Post by cksrealm »

Hi All, I have installed the discovery plugin and it has done exactly what I needed, just got one question however has anybody made any changes that when it discovers a group of hosts, you are able to add each host to the devices and it inherits the snmp name that was found when it was discovered, currently if you select add you are required to enter the name manually, not an issue with small network but we have 4500 devices so it would take a mad amount of time to do that.

Thanks

Discovery Templates is the way to go for something like this. it will take the DNS name that it is discovered with and create the name based on that.

That is how i populated my entire Cacti system when i installed it.
