I'm running 0.8.6j on Suse Enterprise 9.3 with :
php4-4.3.4-43.8
4.1.7-standard
Apache/2.0.49 (Linux/SuSE)
All of the defined devices work fine but I'm unable to create new devices or rather graphs for new devices. I can save the device and it shows up in the list of devices with an unknown status but when I create new charts and save then the message at the top of the screen says the chart was created (Created graph: ap-blackberry01 - CPU Utilization - CPU|query_hrProcessorFrwID|) and a chart is actually visible for the host but there is no data, there are no rrd files at the OS level and the chart appears instantly which is obviously not right since there is no rrd file.
I have applied the patches for 0.8.6j. I recently upgraded from 0.8.6h which was also demonstrating the same behaviour where all of a sudden we are unable to create new charts for new devices. I've run -> mysqlcheck --auto-repair --databases cacti to ensure there are no table issues.
I did find that I could add new charts for existing hosts so it appears the new hosts I try to add are not making it into some table. I will also say that when I do add the new device then do a poller rebuild the charts associated charts with the new host do not show up in the cache.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks

appears templates are corrupt
gandalf - it turns out you pointed me in the right direction.
Now, how do I fix the templates without loosing all the charts that exist when I re-create the templates?
