I was wondering what the best way to create a template for monitoring Squid would be, if I had all of the OID information?
I've found this post which describes creating an XML file to import:
http://www.raxnet.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2802
I understand where to put the OIDs/Name/etc. in the XML file, but I'm not sure what the difference is between the 'input' and 'output' direction. Sorry if this is a simple question, but I'm new to both Cacti and SNMP.
Thanks!

SquidStats released
I've just finished the first version of SquidStats which is a full template for all sorts of things.
The only drawback is that it will only work with cacti 0.8.5, so if you're feeling adventurous you could try the pre-release, or wait until cacti 0.8.5 is released.
You can find it at:

Best of luck,
Rolf.

Glad to hear it !!!
Excellent!
I'm so glad to hear it - please let me know if you have any further ideas of how one could make it better....
There are a couple of cosmetic changes that I have already made in preparation of the next release, but I haven't added anything else.
Would some peer statistics be useful? If you are just using one upstream peer (like I am), then it is quite logical that the current stats will suffice, but if you are dealing with more than one, then graphing per-peer statistics might be useful.
I guess one could even go for per-client statistics, but that may be taking it too far!!!
What do you think?
Rolf.

Import Templates
Hello, I'm really a rookie in cacti so be indulgent with me please.
I try to monitoring squid with cacti so I would use Squidstats but I dont know how importing templates works :
- I put webcache_squid_median.xml, webcache_squid_core.xml and cacti_host_template_webcache_squid_server_snmp.xml in <cacti_path>/resource/snmp_queries/
-Then I guess I have to import the host template in cacti but in the "Import Template" page, when I import the file, nothing happend ! (no new host template)
Can somebody tell me what's going wrong ?
