3-phase APC UPS

Post by bluesk1d »

Does anyone have a template they use to monitor the load of each individual phase of a 3-phase APC UPS (Symmetra)? I found one that does this for the 3-phase PDUs but the OIDs must be different for the UPS because I don't get any data. If someone knows the OIDs for the current load on each of the 3 UPS phases, I might be able to cheat and just insert it into the PDU data template.

The MIB file(s) which came with the APC software (or available from their website) should contain the correct OID(s) you need. Then all you need to do (in theory) is to update the templates to use them.

Yes thats the theory =) The thing is the phases are instances of the same OID. I am not sure how that's handled. For example, WhatsUp MIB walk of the device displays the 3 instances as 1.1.1, 1.1.2, and 1.1.3. I tried just tacking that onto the end of the OID but it doesnt appear to be that simple =\

Read though the documentation site on how to create your own templates/scripts. That'll give you a good idea how to modify the existing stuff you're using http://docs.cacti.net/node/70

Hi,

I have done several graphs for my UPS APC Symmetra (LX and PX) - see attached file.

There are input and output phases in Volts - in one graph.
Second one is Runtime, Battery charge, temperatures....
