Problems with correct bandwith upper than 113Mb on rout int

Post by cinekmk »

Hello

I see on router bandwith over 113MB, but on graphs is only 113 Mb, when bandwith is more than 113MB graph fall to 20-30 Mb/s.
Cacti version 0.8.6j
This is rrdtool output debug.

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="ATM-6500-D-xxxx- Traffic - Gi2/48" \
--rigid \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="bits per second" \
DEF:a="/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/xx_101.rrd":traffic_in:AVERAGE \
DEF:b="/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/xx.rrd":traffic_out:AVERAGE \
CDEF:cdefa=a,8,* \
CDEF:cdefe=b,8,* \
AREA:cdefa#00CF00:"Inbound" \
GPRINT:cdefa:LAST:" Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s\n" \

GPRINT:cdefe:LAST:"Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefe:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefe:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s"

Thanks for advice

you need to make sure you are using the 64bit counters for your graphs. Otherwise, the numbers roll over and this happens.

I hope that helps

While apperault is exactly correct, I still want to add two remarks
- 64bit counters require use of SNMP V2
- as an alternative, you might want to reduce the polling interval as given by http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=16482
