If you are using a database that was upgraded with a previous beta, you need to run the following query and let the installer fix your database.

Code: Select all

update version set cacti = '0.8.6j';
You will get errors from the installer, but it should be ok.

I manage to try this beta on openSUSE 10.2 today.
I like the various duration of polling time.

But I found out it somehow unable to "plot" anything that uses scripts instead of SNMP.

Take example, there is a perl script that query lmstat (FLEXlm) for various license server then reply back the value. In other word, does not make use of snmp. These kind of script, it appear that this beta version cannot plot it.

I checked the log file and it does execute the script but no RRA file (or rrdtool database file) was created.

This should be fixed in SVN (I had the same issue), and will be out shortly with beta 4. Please give it a try when its released (today hopefully).

Well, my email is down until I replace a failed hard drive. So, I will look at having the Beta posted either tonight or tomorrow.
