A way to poll a device who dont reply to ping or snmp

Post by arthur.ebel »

hi, I have got a device (weatherstation) connected using a com port. I have make perl script to capture value. No problem with this. But since this device is always down (cause unreachable using ping or snmp) I believe the poller don't consider it.

Am I wrong ?

Is there a way to poll an unreachable device (ping or snmp)

Nope..

Just don't specify a snmp community and it will poll just fine.
