Cacti J hangs on linux

hi,

i am running cacti j on linux and it is hanging, I;ve enabled debug and noticed that it keeps logging the following:

Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.

i also noticed in the cacti.log that it keeps doing a select from the poller_time and another table repeatedly until it 283 seconds where it quits.

Cacti d worked on my linux machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
