info about inventory module

anyone know an inventory module for cacti?

There's the possibility to archive the data or info about the object in cacti?

What kind of inventory are you looking at? Hardware? Software? What targets shall be supported? How to you want to retrieve data from them?

hi my friend,

the inventory that i need is mainly hardware .... i work for an isp and the great part of the object isnide my cacti are router/switch/dslam.

Should be interesting retrieve even the software that we have installed in our servers (for me only 10) ... interesting for the community maybe?!

We could use snmp for retrieve data (cisco devices .... and much more) ... bash scripts .... or?

I suppose, router/switch/dslam will support SNMP. Are you sure, that those devices will support private MIBs holding the hw/sw data you're interested in? For net-snmp, support of HOST MIB would be required to get some basic hw and some sw information.

And to be honest, I'm not aware of any plugin of this kind
