Thanks Larry. I managed to compile it this way. Just need to test it now - I'll post findings shortly.

I don't know what is wrong with my system, but i have not been able to compile any version of Cactid, nor use any of the recent ones posted. I am hoping once this new version gets released, and is stable, i will be able to re-install, and get everything working as it should.

Oh, well. Sticking with cmd.php for now.

Are you making or simply trying to run the one that I posted? If you are trying to run it, you need a good full install of Cygwin, or you need the sh.exe, and several dll's that you can find by obtaining a good disassembler that has dependency (*.DLL) checking included in it.

U asking why I use processes=60? Well, I was testing it. I tried from 10 to 60 and the value about the same. That is why I also suspect the speed is cause by slowness in network as well as servers to monitor.

Hi Larry

this beta 1 works fine here, but no performance improvement :
  • 0.8.6i

    Code: Select all

    09/10/2007 09:21:46 AM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:104.6348 Method:cactid Processes:4 Threads:25 Hosts:309 HostsPerProcess:78 DataSources:8654 RRDsProcessed:4317
  • 0.8.6j beta 1

    Code: Select all

    09/10/2007 09:31:55 AM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:112.9947 Method:cactid Processes:4 Threads:25 Hosts:309 HostsPerProcess:78 DataSources:8654 RRDsProcessed:4317
When installing it, I copied cactid.conf to /path/to/cactid/etc, but cactid does not seem to find it.

Thanks for the tip fmangent. You will not see a performance increase due to the fact that you have 4 processes times 25 threads = 100 threads, but you only have 78 hosts.

I will have to check on the "./etc" issue though. I think I already know what I did :(. Easy fix though...

You need to run the auto tools on this before making. See a few posts ago for a leader.

Is use this version for the last two days. It worked very well.
Yesterday I added some scripts to get WMI data from windows host.
Since that time I get a lot of segfaults from cacti.
As far as I can see there are three hosts which don´t answer to WMI queries and exacatly that hosts ( plus some others) have gaps in the graphs becouse the max runtime was exceeded.

System:
Windows W2k3
IIS
PHP 5.2.?
Cacti 0.8.6j
latest (this) cactid

from the log:

If you get a stackdump file, post it here. That will help.
