Having troubles with bandwidth monitoring...

Post by ThyReX »

Hi,

i'm having some troubles with cacti 0.8.4
I was using an older version to monitor traffic on my eth0 interface.
Since i use 0.8.4 i cant have this graph working.

When i run cmd.php i got:

Code: Select all

MULTI command: perl /server/www/cacti.mydomain.com/scripts/traffic.pl eth0, output: 1070611536:1334452428:40100976
output value are in, out, and colls
Other rrd are updated but not the traffic rrd.
When looking on apache logs, i can find this error:

Code: Select all

[Fri Feb 6 17:09:55 2004] [error] PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /server/www/cacti.mydomain.com/lib/functions.php on line 1294
[Fri Feb 6 17:09:55 2004] [error] PHP Notice: Undefined index: in /server/www/cacti.mydomain.com/lib/functions.php on line 1294
really dont know whats wrong... I made other graphs using snmp to monitor 2 XP from my network (bandwidth and tcp connections) and its working fine.

Thanks by advance
Franck

When i run cmd.php i got:

Code: Select all

MULTI command: perl /server/www/cacti.thyrex.biz/scripts/traffic.pl eth0, output: 1070611536:1334452428:40100976
output value are in, out, and colls
Other rrd are updated but not the traffic rrd.
I think the script output needs to look like this:

in:1070611536 out:1334452428 colls:40100976

Ian covers the various scripting methods in the new manual.

Thanks a lot, this problem is fixed now but still no graphs.
It seems i'm doing something wrong on data source.
When updating i see:

Code: Select all

update /server/www/cacti.mydomain.com/rra/traffic_45.rrd --template traffic: N:1754414355:1912938609
but this should be traffic_in:traffic_out N:1754414355:1912938609
isnt it ?

like in my snmp traffic monitoring who give:

Code: Select all

update /server/www/cacti.mydomain.com/rra/gabbercomp_traffic_in_43.rrd --template traffic_in:traffic_out N:507863221:15533826
Regards from France.
