W2k3/Apache2 install - rrd's not Generated

Everything is working fine exect nothing is being generated in the rra folder unless I run php.exe cmd.php from the command line then bam I get rrd's.

Can someone please shed some light on what may be the problem.

I keep reading about permission needing to be set, but that seems to pertain to those using IIS - that's what I'm gathering at least.

Been working on this two days straight. getting slapp happy .

What happens when you run the scheduled task manually? I'd suspect a syntax error with the command string or something like that.

I've been working on the machine remotely through a terminal session and the only way I could get rrd's to generate and populate the rra file was to run php.exe c:/apache2/htdocs/cacti/cmd.exe from the command line. Running the task manually wasn't working either.
.. Until I physically walked over to the server and logged in.
Left without logging out yesterday and checked it this morning and it's been running fine. Graphs look great, good data.

I suspect this isn't the way it's supposed to run.
Is there a way to have it run without having someone logged into the machine all the time?

Just set the task to run as a user, domain or local. As long as the user account you choose has permissions to update the rra and log directories it should work fine.

I use a domain user account so i can drop it the local administrators group of a machine if i want to poll it's WMI counters. If you are just collecting snmp data it really shouldn't matter.

I had the tasks set to use a local admin account, but it still wasn't running unless someone was logged into the machine.

Actually found messages refering to "wincron" which seemed to do exactly what I was looking for.

downloaded it, got it set up and it seems to be working pretty good.
