Manually execute the vb script from the command line to see if you get any output. If you do under your logon, try using the same user account thats running the cacti scheduled task. That'll tell you if its a permission problem.

I executed from the command line, and still got the same syntax error I have been getting... Wouldn't think it to be a permissions issue, I am a computer/domain admin.

Did you share the directory that houses your exchange databases ? If you did, also check the share permission.

Hmm, I must have missed that bit of info... do I need to share it for any of the exchnage monitoring scripts to work, or just this one? Not sure that we want to share it...

Just this one. The share is so that the script doesn't have to parse a long path. You can set security (I've done this at my workplace) so that only the poller account gets access to this share...

How would I do that. The exhcnage server doesn't know about the IIS or cacti accounts on thew cacti server, would I allow the computer account access to it...?? If you could tell me how I would do this, perhaps that would work. Thanks!

Jacob,

Your cacti server will need to connect to a share on the exchange server - this should be where the databases reside. Your poller account on the Cacti server will need rights to access this share and see the contents of it.

If you are using a system account for your poller, then this will need to change to a domain account that has rights to the share on the exchange server.

Hope this clarifies things a bit ?

phantom_rgs - These templates (as explained on the first post for this topic) were exported using Cacti version 0.8.6j - previous versions will not work.

if you want to use this template, you will need to upgrade to the latest version of CACTI.

Thanks for the great script. Saves us having to do this by hand.

Has anyone modded the script to handle multiple databases? If so, did you use different graphs for each of the databases?

Thanks!

I need to revisit this, as the script no longer services it's purpose for me - it was originally developed with one storage group in mind....

Time is of the essence at the moment...

My Cacti is running on linux server. Has anybody a solution for this environment. It's very important to monitor the filesize of private and public store because of 18GB size limit on Exchange 2003.

Thanks in advance

Script is great, but in my case I need to monitor four databases, so I'm going to work on making a few changes to the script.

I will let you guys know the outcome of my testing. I should have something done by end of this week.
