newbie questions

Post by harryl »

Hi All,

I just installed Cacti, and was trying to add a device in the same network. however, the device I added seem to have a SNMP error on the top left handside. Does the device I added need to install net-snmp, too?

And one thing is that, there are some images can not be shown when I view the graph.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it's the best way to graph a remote device.

Thanks for the reply.

I have this crontab job running for pooling. However, I have never see the graph changed.

*/5 * * * * root /opt/lampp/bin/php /local/htdocs/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1

So, do I need to do any sort of configuration on the server net-snmp and the client net-snmp? I installed net-snmp and it seems like it still getting this snmp error on machine infofmation.

Thanks

Thank you so much!!
Finally got the poll and SNMP working.

However, I am running into another problem.
I tried to graph the ethernet traffic with I/O Bits with Total BandWidth. When I go to graph, the graph did not display. I revisit it after 30 min, it still displaying the picture display error sign. But I can see the graph fine when I click on the magnifier next to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The RRDTool Font Path is this: /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.23/share/rrdtool/fonts/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf

And the RRDTool version shown in settings is RRDTool 1.2.x

Everything is in default setting. wandering what goes wrong. :(

Please visit this graph at Graph Management. Switch to DEBUG mode and post a screenshot of the whole page.
