Data Templates disappeared

Post by mazz0 »

Cacti 0.8.6f is running for a while now until suddenly all Data Templates disappeared. I can't tell what action might have triggered this.
The cacti installation runs fine, except i cannot add any new hosts.
I checked the database if it needed to be repaired, but Mysql reported no anomalities.
I tried installing a new version of cacti on a different machine with the same database, but that didn't work out either.
Any idea what might fix this problem? It would save me a lot of time importing all rra's manualy.

I'm running Apache 2.0.51, php 4.3.10, RRDtool 1.0.49(debian), mysql 4.0.21(debian)

I have the same problem.

All my data templates do not show up.

I have
Version 0.8.6j
Fedora Core 6

When I go to Console -> Data Templates
none of the Templates show up.

When I add a device, they show up in the Pull Down window fine, and all of the graphs are functioning. Even when I go to add my own template, it doesn't show up.

Anyone have an Idea?

Any specific information I need to post?

Thanks,
markrichter

Must be one of those errors that few have seen. Just 2 people, since Oct of 2005?

What could cause the Data Templates to disappear? Technically, they still operate when adding a device, but adding new templates, importing them, do not show up.

No one has an idea ?

This was a well known error some months ago. Only I can't remember the solution. In first instance, make sure your cacti is fully patched. Try to google for an old solution, http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=00157 ... 5dbrufpnu may help for googling

Went through and verified everything is on the latest version and patched.

Only thing I can imagine, was after a reboot of the server they no longer displayed. Could it be in the permissions to the .php file?

I went ahead and looked in the database for cacti, and the data templates are in the tables. So they exist, its just the .php portion in console that display's the contents of that table, are not displaying them.

I reset the permissions as per installation notes, and still nothing shows.

Googled it, and this thread is all that appears for this aspect of "Data Templates" missing, disappeared, vanished, no longer visible, not visible, etc...

Issue is.. the templates are there in the DB, but are not being displayed.

so.. back to the drawing board. I might try and do a dump of the database, and import the database into another installation of Cacti on onther server and see if it happens again.

BUMP BUMP

I've reinstalled cacti. still getting no data templates.

I dont know how many times I have installed cacti in the past, but its been alot. since the days of RRDTOOL 1.0x

I'm not a novice, I have built my own templates, discovered new ways of creating graphs. Installed on several servers.

This is what I have:

cacti Version 0.8.6j
mysql Ver 14.5 Distrib 4.1.3-beta, for pc-linux (i686)
NET-SNMP version: 5.1.2
Apache version 2.0.52
Fedora Core release 5 (Bordeaux)

I have not run any upgrades on the server other than standard stuff that all my other servers are running.

I just cannot see any of my data templates. that is all I have wrong.

I have alot of information in my databases, and all the data is polling and displaying properly in the graphs.

No errors at all.

Just standard:

goes on for months and months (few warnings of HOST DOWN messages).

I've checked php settings as well. all looks normal, everything else works fine except displaying the data templates.

The new Cacti I just installed, the log is empty, I havent even started adding devices.
